How Much Does A Sexologist Cost In Pakistan?

How Much Does A Sexologist Cost In Pakistan_

One of the most common questions patients ask before booking an appointment is how much a sexologist costs in Pakistan. The concern is understandable because the total cost depends on whether you need only an initial consultation or a structured treatment program.

In Pakistan, a professional sexologist consultation generally costs around PKR 3,000 to PKR 4,000. My current consultation fee is PKR 4,000.

For some patients, one consultation may be sufficient. Others may need a structured treatment program lasting several weeks, particularly when psychological factors, hormonal issues, or a combination of physical and psychological causes are involved.

The cost therefore depends on the diagnosis, not simply on the symptom.

How Much Does A Sexologist Charge In Pakistan?

The cost of seeing a sexologist varies according to the doctor’s qualifications, clinical experience, city, type of consultation, and the complexity of the patient’s condition.

A general cost structure is:

  • Initial consultation: PKR 3,000 to PKR 4,000
  • Dr. Farooq Nasim Bhatti consultation: PKR 4,000
  • Structured treatment program: Approximately PKR 7,000 to PKR 10,000 per week
  • Typical comprehensive treatment duration: Around 10 weeks for cases that require structured therapy

Not every patient needs the full 10-week program.

Some patients with an organic cause of erectile dysfunction may only need the initial consultation and appropriate symptomatic medication. Others may need a more comprehensive approach depending on what is identified during the assessment. In these patients naturally normal function is restored by 10 sessions of treatment.

The First Step Is Diagnosis, Not Treatment

Before deciding on treatment, it is important to understand why the problem is happening.

During the initial consultation, I take a detailed clinical history, detailed sexual history, perform an appropriate medical examination, review previous treatments, and order diagnostic investigations when necessary.

The purpose is to establish the most likely primary diagnosis rather than treating every sexual difficulty in the same way.

Patients with erectile dysfunction are generally assessed into two broad categories:

  1. Organic sexual dysfunction or erectile dysfunction
  2. Psychogenic sexual dysfunction or erectile dysfunction
  3. Some patients may also have a combination of both

This distinction is important because the treatment pathway and cost can be very different.

Persistent erectile dysfunction can be related to vascular disease, diabetes, hormonal problems, medications, psychological stress, performance anxiety, or several factors together. The treatment should therefore reflect the actual cause.

What Happens During The Initial Consultation?

The initial consultation is not simply an appointment to obtain medicine.

The purpose is to understand the patient’s condition in sufficient detail to decide whether symptomatic treatment is enough or whether a more comprehensive program is appropriate.

Detailed Clinical History

I usually ask when the problem started, whether it is consistent or situational, how long it has been present, and whether symptoms have changed over time.

Medical conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, hormonal problems, cardiovascular disease, and previous surgeries may be relevant.

Current medicines, previous sexual health treatments, supplements, lifestyle factors, and other health concerns are also reviewed.

Medical Examination And Diagnostic Assessment

A medical examination may be required depending on the condition.

If necessary, laboratory investigations, hormonal testing, imaging, or other diagnostic tests may also be recommended.

These investigations are not automatically required for every patient. They are ordered when the clinical history or examination suggests that additional information is needed.

Psychological Assessment

Psychological factors can have a major influence on sexual function.

Performance anxiety, fear of failure, stress, relationship tension, previous negative experiences, and sexual misconceptions can affect erections even when there is no significant physical disease.

This is particularly relevant in men who experience difficulty soon after marriage. A premarital sexual health consultation can also help identify whether a concern is psychological, medical, or simply related to misinformation and anxiety.

Treatment Pathway For Organic Erectile Dysfunction

Organic erectile dysfunction means that the main cause is physical or medical.

Common examples include long standing diabetes, vascular changes associated with age, cardiovascular disease, neurological problems, hormonal abnormalities, and other medical conditions that affect normal erectile function.

Standard Symptomatic Management

Some patients with organic erectile dysfunction mainly need safe and appropriate symptomatic relief.

In these cases, the treatment may involve prescribing a suitable standard allopathic medication according to the patient’s medical history, current medicines, and overall health.

The purpose is to provide reliable symptomatic support when this is clinically appropriate.

For this type of patient, the PKR 4,000 initial consultation may be sufficient, and routine weekly follow-up is not always necessary.

The patient receives guidance regarding the safest and most appropriate treatment option based on their individual health profile.

When Organic ED Requires More Comprehensive Treatment

Not every organic case remains straightforward.

Some men initially respond to symptomatic medication but later find that the medicine becomes less effective or non effective. In certain cases, a secondary psychological component develops because repeated sexual difficulty creates anxiety, fear of failure, or loss of confidence.

Hormonal imbalances may also contribute.

These patients may require a more comprehensive treatment pathway rather than simply changing or increasing medication.

Refractory Or Mixed Organic ED

When the problem includes a significant psychogenic component, hormonal imbalance, or poor response to standard symptomatic medication, treatment may involve:

  • Psychological counselling
  • Structured sex therapy
  • Medical management
  • Hormonal assessment and correction where indicated
  • Behavioural interventions
  • Ongoing clinical monitoring

This type of treatment generally lasts around 10 weeks.

The average fee is approximately PKR 7,000 to PKR 10,000 per week, although more complex cases may cost more depending on the treatment required.

Treatment Pathway For Psychogenic Erectile Dysfunction

Psychogenic erectile dysfunction occurs when psychological factors play the dominant role in the problem.

A patient may have normal physical capacity for erections but erection decrease or vanish before vaginal penetration or during vaginal penetration. Errction decrease before penetration with out ejaculation or with ejaculation. Person experience repeated difficulty because of performance anxiety, fear, stress, relationship pressure, or learned patterns of sexual response.

In such cases, simply prescribing on-demand medication may not be effective in most cases and if effective patient has to take medication for every sexual activity. These medicines leave erection inducing effect and later become non effective in initiating and maintaining erection. On time medicines provide temporary support but may not address the reason the problem continues.

The 10-Week Comprehensive Treatment Program

For psychogenic erectile dysfunction, the treatment objective is to help the patient regain natural and erection and more autonomous sexual function through a structured combination of therapy and medical support.

The program may include:

  • Sex therapy
  • Psychological counselling
  • Behavioural techniques
  • Anxiety management
  • Relationship guidance where appropriate
  • Standard allopathic medication when clinically required

The usual duration is approximately 10 weeks.

The average treatment cost is around PKR 7,000 to PKR 10,000 per week.

More severe or complex cases may require additional management.

The goal is to address the factors that are maintaining the problem rather than creating long term dependence on temporary performance medication.

Symptomatic Relief Or Comprehensive Treatment: Patients Have A Choice

After the initial assessment, patients are informed about the treatment options that are appropriate for their diagnosis.

There are generally two broad pathways.

Option 1: Symptomatic Relief

Some patients prefer immediate symptomatic management.

In these cases, the patient may choose a single PKR 4,000 consultation and receive a prescription for the safest and most appropriate on-demand medication based on their medical history.

This option may be suitable for certain organic cases where symptomatic treatment is clinically appropriate.

Regular weekly therapy may not be necessary.

Option 2: Comprehensive 10-Week Treatment

Other patients prefer a treatment approach focused on addressing the factors contributing to the dysfunction.

This option generally involves approximately 10 weeks of structured treatment, with an average cost of PKR 7,000 to PKR 10,000 per week.

The program may combine sex therapy, psychological counselling, medical treatment, behavioural guidance, and management of other contributing factors.

The patient is informed about the approach before beginning treatment so that the decision can be made with clear expectations regarding cost, duration, and objectives.

How Much Can A Complete 10-Week Treatment Program Cost?

Based on an average weekly treatment cost of PKR 7,000 to PKR 10,000, a 10-week structured treatment program may cost approximately PKR 70,000 to PKR 100,000.

If the initial consultation is charged separately, the overall estimated cost may be approximately PKR 74,000 to PKR 104,000.

This is an estimated range rather than a fixed package price.

Costs may vary depending on clinical complexity, medications, hormonal management, diagnostic investigations, and other treatment requirements.

A patient should therefore not assume that every sexual health problem will cost PKR 100,000.

Some patients require only the initial consultation.

Why Treatment Cost Differs From Patient To Patient

Sexual dysfunction does not have one universal cause.

Two men can both report erection problems while requiring completely different treatment.

One patient may have diabetes related vascular changes and need only appropriate symptomatic management. Another may have normal physical function but significant performance anxiety that requires structured therapy.

A third patient may have both physical and psychological factors.

Treatment cost may therefore depend on:

  • Whether the condition is organic or psychogenic
  • How long the problem has existed
  • Severity of symptoms
  • Response to previous medications
  • Presence of psychological factors
  • Hormonal abnormalities
  • Relationship concerns
  • Need for diagnostic investigations
  • Complexity of treatment

The treatment plan should follow the diagnosis, not the other way around.

Why I Do Not Rely Only On Temporary Medication

Many men come for consultation after repeatedly using tablets, sprays, supplements, herbal products, or unverified sexual performance treatments.

Some may experience temporary improvement.

However, temporary improvement does not necessarily mean the underlying problem has been addressed.

For patients with psychogenic erectile dysfunction, continued reliance on symptomatic medication can sometimes reinforce the belief that natural sexual function is not possible without a tablet.

My treatment approach therefore aims to identify what is maintaining the problem and address those factors where possible.

If on-demand medication is clinically useful during treatment, it can be used transparently for a limited period rather than being presented as the only solution.

The objective is to support natural sexual function while minimizing unnecessary dependence on temporary agents.

Does Every Patient Need Sex Therapy?

No.

Sex therapy is primarily useful when psychological, behavioural, emotional, or relationship factors are contributing to the problem.

Patients with straightforward organic erectile dysfunction may not require structured sex therapy.

Similarly, not every patient with premature ejaculation or erection difficulties needs the same approach.

For example, repeatedly using early discharge medicines may provide temporary improvement for some men, but patients with anxiety, poor ejaculatory control, or relationship related factors may require additional therapeutic work.

Is Medication Included In Treatment?

Medication may be used when clinically appropriate.

The type of medicine depends on the diagnosis, medical history, current medications, and overall health of the patient.

Some organic ED patients may receive symptomatic medication during the initial consultation.

Patients in a comprehensive treatment program may also receive medication when necessary, but the treatment is not based solely on medication.

Any separate laboratory investigations, diagnostic procedures, specialist tests, or additional medical services may affect the total cost.

Can One Consultation Be Enough?

Yes.

For some organic cases, one consultation is sufficient to assess the condition and prescribe appropriate symptomatic treatment.

Routine weekly follow-up is not always required.

A longer treatment program is more likely to be recommended when the patient has psychogenic erectile dysfunction, mixed causes, hormonal abnormalities, poor response to symptomatic medication, or other factors that require ongoing therapy.

This is why the diagnosis during the first consultation is so important.

Where Can I Consult Dr. Farooq Nasim Bhatti?

Physical consultations are available in Lahore, Islamabad, and Faisalabad.

Patients in Lahore can receive in person assessment from a sexologist in Lahore, while patients in the capital can access consultation through the Islamabad clinic.

Patients from Faisalabad and nearby areas can also receive in person care through the Faisalabad sexology clinic.

Online consultations are also available for patients who cannot visit one of these three locations.

Is A Sexologist Consultation Confidential?

Yes.

Privacy is extremely important in sexual health care.

Many men delay treatment because they are embarrassed to discuss erection problems, premature ejaculation, sexual anxiety, or difficulties after marriage.

A confidential environment allows the patient to explain symptoms honestly.

This is important because accurate diagnosis depends on understanding the complete medical, psychological, and relationship context of the problem.
